Meet the instructors
Giulio Ferrini
A chartered engineer, Giulio has over 10 years of experience in shaping cities to become fairer, greener, healthier places. Giulio has worked across the private sector, local and national government, and the not-for-profit sector, from the detailed design of streets and public spaces to long-term strategies, policies and standards.
Since 2023, Giulio has been leading the built environment programme at the Institute for Human Rights and Business, working to make human rights part of everyday practice for investors, planners, designers, and constructors.
Christine Mhone
Christine Mhone is an accomplished Urban Planner at Evolve Limited, a leading geospatial technologies company and a registered Urban Planner under the Malawi Institute of Physical Planners. Christine serves as Malawi Ambassador for the African Smart Cities Innovation Foundation (ASCIF), her role is to promote the Smart City concept within Africa and beyond. To build partnerships and work with relevant organizations, individuals and volunteers in achieving ASCIF goals. Christine also serves as the Malawi Country Chair for the G100 Smart and Sustainable Cities wing. Christine brings a wealth of expertise in designing Master Plans and detailed layout plans for emerging cities. She is also a HOT Voting Member under the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (www.hotosm.org). She has successfully co-pioneered the start of the OpenStreetMap Malawi chapter, a community of Young Open Mapping contributors and enthusiasts.
