2024 Module 5 Clean Energy for Sustainable Development
Live session 19 October 2024
10:00-16:15
This module investigates clean energy for sustainable development (SDG 7) and the factors that impact universal access to affordable and renewable energy. The module will investigate the broader consequences of the lack of clean energy, particularly for marginalised groups and within the Global South, in terms of its adverse effect on the economy and wellbeing of the population. Participants will learn about existing legislative frameworks on promoting clean energy for all and the challenges in achieving this goal, to foster a deeper understanding of the intersection between the legal sector and the sustainable energy industry. Practical case studies on critical regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa will be referenced to illustrate the importance of accessible clean energy for all.
